It's a new year and more opportunities are up for earning online globally. It's up to us to search far and wide for these opportunities and grab them when possible. Of course, not everything will perform as expected so don't take unnecessary risks. The best deals are those that do not require any monetary investment. Be prepared to invest your time, effort and a lot of thinking and rethinking, though.

I have been inviting peopletojoin AGLOCO but the company has not performed as expected, so far, as they themselves admit. I don't consider it a failed experiment on my part yet, though, since I haven't spent a single cent on it. In fact, I have not discontinued my membership and do not intend todoso untilthe company itself says they are folding up. For as long as they are trying to make a go of it, I'll hang on. It doesn't cost me anything to keep faith with their efforts after all.

In the meantime, my experiment with putting up several blogs has been doing well. I am not rolling in Adsense dollars yet but have been paid once already and am seeing the figures adding up to another payment soon.

I have learned,though that you do not need to invest in your own dotcom address immediately. In fact, some blogs I know have been making money even as blogspot sites.

I have therefore decided to streamline my blogs. Those that can be self-sufficient with promise of earning more will stay as dot coms while the others will revert to their blogspot addresses. I know that this could adversely affect the incomes of those blogs that will have a change of address but since they are not pulling in much in the first place, it's not much of a sacrifice. I am hoping that in the long run the trickles from the blogspot blogs will pay for the year-long dotcom experiment I did for each one. It wasn't much of an investment anyway, just about $20for a private listing at Yahoo Small Business.

Again, please remember that merely putting up blogs will not automatically make you money with Adsense. I have observed that those personal blogs that socialize well do not necessarily pull in Adsense income. Try blogs that provide useful information that people are looking for. Chances are, they will also click on the ads on your blog offering further information or services related to your topic.

Be patient. It may take about a year before you see a pattern or encouraging income. Just keep your blogs active and informative. Soon you will see your blog moving up the search pages and this will, in turn, draw in more visitors and, hopefully, more ad clicks.

A while back, there were some doubts as to the credibility of AGLOCO when members became impatient on the release of the promised toolbar, and then when they experienced difficulties in downloading the toolbar. All that seems to have been ironed out, though. I have already downloaded my toolbar last month.

Oh, okay - some of you may have read the term AGLOCO in your surfing but weren't really paying attention to what it is. Well, it's one way of earning money online, wherever you are around the globe. It's free to join, too. Interested to know more?

AGLOCO stands for A Global Community. It is an organization that is comprised of members who are active internet users. Members download a toolbar that will be installed discreetly at the bottom of the desktop. It will have ads and a Google search window.

AGLOCO intends to earn from advertisers and Google and then share these earnings with members. To get points that correspond with a percentage of the earnings, a member only needs to surf with the toolbar signed in for a total of five hours every month. You do your usual surfing and the toolbar doesn't affect it. Whenever you use the Google search function, AGLOCO earns and, in general, all members benefit, too.

There's more. Each AGLOCO member is also automatically an affiliate. You get to earn additional points from the surfing hours of your recruits and their recruits one level down.

That's it. No one needs to buy anything nor click on any ads. Just having the toolbar signed in as you do your normal surfing for a total of five hours a month will earn you points that will eventually correspond to cash. Sweet, isn't it? We usually review other blogs in order to get a linkback from them, especially when they have a higher PR than ours.

Well, how would you like to review a PR4 blog and, aside from the high-PR linkback, get a chance to win $100 to boot? I'd say, Wow!

Yes, he does! Carl Ocab does make money online. His blog is named Make Money Online With A 13-Year-Old, though, because he started it last year. He's now 14.

As of this writing, the blog has a PR4, an Alexa rank of 46,053, a Technorati authority of 731 and a Technorati rank of 3,659. I can't argue with that!

Browsing through his posts, one sees that he does know a lot about blogging and monetizing - even more than other bloggers twice or thrice his age. His blog is definitely worth a read if you're planning on making some money online, too. If a 14-year-old can do it, then so can you.

Garry Conn teaches us to Make Money Online $1.00 At A Time by creating several niche blogs with Adsense. He figures that if you have 100 blogs earning $1.00 a day then you can earn $3,000 a month. According to him, earning a dollar a day from Adsense is easy for a well-planned niche blog.

And what is a well-planned niche blog?

Garry Conn says that first, it has to be focused on a certain phrase that you believe people will most likely search for. The blog should contain articles focused on this phrase and will also, therefore, contain Adsense ads related to this phrase.

Your target audience shouldn't be fellow bloggers. This is because bloggers usually do not click on ads. They visit other blogs for information, read it, maybe comment, then leave. You will not earn much from Adsense with fellow bloggers.

Your target market should, instead, be surfers who are not bloggers. They need certain information and search for phrases - hopefully, your phrases. When they reach your blog, they read your post then look around for more information. They see the links in your Adsense ads and click on these. Voila! You get your clicks and they get more of the information they need. You both win.

This one, Earn Global Online, is sort of in between. I dish out information on online earning opportunities for both bloggers and non-bloggers here and hope to attract both types of readers.

One advice that most gurus give to make money online is to sell ebooks. You can write them yourself, or you can be an affiliate and sell ebooks written by others.

Most of these ebooks are about - what else - how to make money online.

I would love to write a book on the matter, too, but that is something I can do only after I have proven that I have, indeed, made good money online.

Back With Good News and New Online Earning Sources

Yes, I'm back online, friends.

One thing that drew me back is some good news. My other blog, Manila Mom, is now number 92 in the Top 100 Philippine Blogs, according to Ratified.org. The ranking is based on Technorati and Feedburner stats. This happened only little more than two months from when I started Manila Mom. I am quite euphoric over this.

With the positive momentum, I have, therefore, launched three new blogs:
Philippine Trip: Manila
Ageless Beauty, Health and Wellness
Relief from Chronic Headache, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Each one is targetted toward a specific niche, with adsense ads that are very complementary and helpful to its target audience. The goal is to earn from adsense.

Each of the blogs also have their own domain names, but are hosted for free by Blogger, much like this one.

In the meantime, I have also reactivated my Credit Ability blog. It's still not drawing the right kind of ads I'm hoping for but I'll give it a little more time. If it performs well, I could then get it its own domain name.

Let's see how this experiment will go.I'll keep you posted.

Personal Time

I'll have to take more time off, friends. I'm afraid I'm not yet in shape to blog as usual. I'm still an emotional wreck after my Mom's passing.

I'll be back as soon as I can. In a week or so, I hope. At least I hope I can learn to function by then even while still going through the grieving process.

How John Chow Dot Com Makes Money Online

He's at it again. The notorious John Chow of John Chow Dot Com is stirring up controversy once more with his twist on the popular DoFollow movement.

Originally, the DoFollow movement recommends removing nofollow from the comments to a blog so that all comments can be counted by Google spiders as links back to their authors. This spreads link love to one's commentators. (As this blog does.)

John Chow's version is to charge each interested commentator $10 a month for unlimited dofollow comments on his PR6 blog.

Many bloggers are reacting negatively to the scheme, calling it greedy and evil. John Chow counters that it is only fair that he charge for the PR juice being leached from his PR6 blog. Those who agree with him point out that $10 is actually cheap in this case.

This is just one example of how John Chow, the self-described dot com mogul, is able to make money online, lots and lots of it.

With the massive traffic he is getting, he can almost get away with anything. It seems like his every gimmick just increases his PR and earnings more and more.

Well, since my own blog here is still in its early stages of learning how to make money online, I still can't afford to shell out $10 a month for the link juice. I can, however, benefit from another gimmick still being run by John Chow - the make money online review. He gives a link on a post, on anchor text of your choice, for every review that qualifies.

The rules of the review are simple. Make sure to allot one whole post to the review alone. Link to the John Chow Dot Com home page with the anchor text "make money online." Place another link to the rules. Then inform him of your review with the specific URL of your post, and including your preferred anchor text.

John Chow has just posted Batch 72 of the reviews, but he says he already has enough reviews to make up to Batch 75. I am hoping this review makes it to Batch 76.

Let's see how much mileage Earn Global Online gets from the dot com mogul's gimmick. At least this is free, and I do appreciate the opportunity.

To Make Money Online, Get Your Own Domain Name

This is what everyone has been telling me to do, and I finally took the big step. I finally committed to getting this blog its own domain name. We are now www.earnglobalonline.com . (Please don't forget the www, or you'll get an error.)

You might have noticed that the blog name has changed, too. It's now Earn Global Online. More on target, I think.

The wakeup call, ironically, was when this blog did not get a page rank from Google while my Manila Mom blog got a PR2 and my Cafe Romanza blog got a PR3.

Instead of feeling bad for this blog, I realized that this was the time to get it its own domain name. Why? Because now I can't get Manila Mom and Cafe Romanza their own domain names, not unless I want each of them to go back to a PR zero. Yup, that's what I've heard. Changing to a new address could wipe out your hard-earned PR points. So I'm allowing those two blogs to grow from where they are, as free blogspot blogs.

Now, while we are still at PR zero here, we have the opportunity to start fresh. I've changed the template, too, to a crisp and professional gray and red. Nice!

So I hope you'll enjoy dropping by this new and improved blog. We'll have more posts on how we can all make money online!

Join the DoFollow Movement and Get More Traffic

I have joined the DoFollow movement. I have removed "nofollow" from the comments section of my blogs so that your comments are live links to your blogs, counted by Google spiders for the benefit of your page rank. This is to thank readers who come visit and leave relevant comments. It's like writing in your own links to your blog. So keep coming, reading and leaving comments.

Marhgil has tagged me to host the DoFollow list on 5 of my blogs, and here it is.

How is this done?

I followed Andy Beard’s instructions on how to remove the NoFollow for comments from the html of my Blogspot template. He has instructions for Wordpress and other formats, as well. There are plug-ins you can search for, too.

Once your comments are DoFollow, you can host the DoFollow List on your site.

1. Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph. This isn’t a suggestion. You need to break up the duplicate content. Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2. Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to your blog. If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

Be An Affiliate for a Product That Helps People

In my quest for new money making opportunities online, I found My World. I signed up as an affiliate because I believe it can be a big thing soon, especially with a lot of Filipino overseas contract workers and immigrants and their families. It would provide a great service for them, saving them a lot of money, too.

You see, My World enables people outside the Philippines to make unlimited calls to the country for a very reasonable amount.

It works like this: when you buy an account at MyWorld, you are given a local number in the US or the country of your choice that is included in their service. Choose a number in the state where your relatives/friends/business associates will be calling from. Your local cellphone number will be linked to that number. To call you, your relative/friend/business associates only have to dial that number and your local cellphone will ring. Your relative/friend/business associate will not incur long distance charges because it is as if they are only calling a local number in their area.

I know that there are millions of Filipinos overseas. Filipinos are very family-oriented and they call their families often - some even call not only every day but several times a day. The phone bills they rack up must be astronomical.

With My World, they can really save a lot while also making all the calls they want all day and all night. Think of how much this will mean for families.

Find Something You Want for Yourself And Promote It As An Affiliate

After my fiasco with Global Domains International (see previous post below), I am not about to buy into another similar program immediately. I have not, however, given up on the idea of eventually getting my own domain name and finding a web hosting service with the right fit.

Just this morning, I came across Site Build It! (SBI!). It is a company that sells you not only a domain name and web hosting services but also web design and a whole slew of backroom technical services to help get you to the top 1% in Alexa ratings. They have existing successful clients' websites and testimonials to show for it, too.

Of course, you will have to do your share of creative thinking and content generation to make the idea work. After all, it will be your website and your business.

Your web business will not have to be about selling SBI!, although that would be an additional income stream. In fact, SBI has the software to help you find the most profitable niche among your interests. That is where they recommend you to focus your business.

I want to get into SBI! At present, though, I have to discipline myself against shelling out more money after losing $90 on my GDI experiment. I told myself I should at least earn that back first from online income before I spend again on another venture.

So I did the next best thing! I became an SBI! affiliate.

I figured that if I want SBI! then a lot of people would, too. It's just a matter of helping them get to know about it.

If you like what you read in their site and you happen to be able to afford it right away, good for you. That means you'll get a head start on your business.

If you can't afford it just yet, you can sign up as an affiliate, like me, and wait for the commissions to add up so we can afford to get in soon, too.

At the very least, see what they have to offer and look over their case studies. There's a lot I picked up from their experiences.

This Blog Stands On Its Own Now

Until around 3 a.m. today (Manila time) I had an EarnGlobal.ws website. This blog was supposed to be in support of that site, driving traffic to it.

The EarnGlobal.ws site was part of my attempt at having my own home based web business. I have,however, discontinued my affiliation with Global Domains International, which sells .ws domain names and web hosting.

I joined GDI as an affiliate sometime in August last year, taking advantage of the week-long free trial.

I had an urge to discontinue at the end of the week but found out that in order to opt out I would have to call a certain number long-distance, Monday to Friday 9 to 5 Pacific time. That meant between 1 to 9 am Manila time.

It wasn't really much of a problem but the inconvenience made me change my mind about quitting. (I guess that was exactly their intention and it worked.) I convinced myself that the $10 a month charge seemed reasonable, considering that it came with a domain name of my choosing and a free website with web-building tools provided and a ready-made business selling GDI memberships.

I glossed over the fact that I hate selling. I mean the kind of selling where I have to approach people or write to them offering something.

The GDI business model, however, expected members to keep sending emails to relatives, friends and acquaintances inviting them to GDI. It just wasn't my style. I felt uncomfortable doing it so I didn't.

I did make an effort to write good content on my website. The templates were limited, though, and with my utter lack of techie know-how, it came out looking very bland.

Perhaps because I myself wasn't too hyped up about the whole thing, I couldn't drive traffic there either.

In the meantime,I was being billed $10 a month like clockwork.

In the last week or so, when I put up my blogs, I linked to that site and did get some visits. There were still no sign ups, though.

Finally,I owned up to the fact that GDI wasn't a fit for me and I had to cut my losses. It would be very foolish of me to continue to pay for a site that I could not earn from. It's just money being drained out.

I don't blame GDI. I guess some people out there are earning a lot from the business. I'm just not the right person for it.

I lost $90. I won't wait that long again before I let go the next time I find myself in such a situation.

That doesn't mean I'm giving up on having my own home based web business, though. I'm sure I can find something that's more aligned with my way of doing things and my interests.

There's so much to explore online. I shall continue to do so with this blog and my 5 other blogs. This, in itself, could be the start of a kind of internet home business.
